Syraco Syrah Terre Siciliane I.G.T.- Baglio di Pianetto
The Syrah vines for the Syraco red wine grow in the sand and limestone rich vineyards on Baglio di Pianetto’s Baroni estate near the sea by Siracusa in Southeastern Sicily at an altitude of 50 m.
The grapes were manually harvested, sorted, destemmed and lightly pressed. Early natural fermentation using the grapes’ own wild yeast in stainless steel tanks, and maceration aiming at best possible preservation the primary character of the grapes. The wine was matured in French oak barriques for 12 months followed by 24 months in the bottles.
Colour: Dense purple.
Bouquet: Intense, fine and complex, spicy - black pepper, cinnamon, toasty notes.
Taste: Ready and harmonious, warm, fairly sapid, intense and lingering, strong-bodied with silky, caressing tannins.
Longevity 5-10 years.
