Shipping

The arrangement we have with our shipper ensures that the more you buy the lower the shipping cost will be per bottle. The shipping costs change at various weight levels 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40 kilos (and higher levels), which means you can optimize the shipping cost by changing the number of bottles you buy. For example you can add additional bottles up to and just below the next weight level without cost increase and thereby actually have such additional bottles without any additional freight costs.

The diagram below shows how this works based on a typical 0,75 l wine bottle with a weight of 1,5 kg and the typical freight costs. You can see with how many bottles the shipping costs change, and how the shipping costs per bottle declines with additional bottles. The diagram also shows you how many bottles you can buy before you reach the next level of increase in shipping costs.

However, the weight of wine bottles varies and also the freight rates to some countries may be different, but the principles in how to optimize your shipping costs are the same. For some countries the shipping costs may also be higher as import duties according to local regulations may be added. You will see the actual shipping costs in the shopping cart check-out page and you can play around with the number of and types of bottles to find what is cheapest for you.

All our shipments are entrusted to the best international carriers. Our wines and other products will be transported with appropriate packaging and covered by an insurance policy that protects the customer in case of breakage or loss during order delivery.

Passing of risk

Purchases on the Saporidoc website are subject to the provisions of the Italian Consumption Code D.Lgs. 21/2014. Art. 63 Passing Risk - Consumption Code:
1. In contracts involving the obligation of the seller to arrange the shipping of the goods, the risk of loss or damage to the goods, for reasons that cannot be attributed to the seller, will only pass to the customer when the latter or a third party he has designated and different from the carrier, takes over the possession of the goods materially.
2. However, the risk is transferred to the customer once the goods have been delivered to the carrier when the carrier has been chosen by the customer and that choice has not been proposed by the seller, without prejudice to the customer's rights vis-à-vis the carrier.
