Feudi di San Gregorio today epitomises the oenological renaissance of southern Italy, promoting a wine culture for the rediscovery of Mediterranean flavours. To promote southern Italy grape varieties, such as Aglianico, Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo, to invest in the land and in the century old tradition of Irpinia wine making, means offering a future to a unique environmental heritage. Established in 1986 by two Irpinian families, Feudi di San Gregorio has its roots in the town of Sorbo Serpico in the province of Avellino in the center of Campania, some 40 km. east of Napoli. Since its early days, the winery focused on the preservation of authentic top quality productions and on the definition of a premium quality standard to meet the highest and most severe market requirements.

Irpinia is a unique territory under many aspects: Mediterranean latitudes, mountain viticulture, fresh rainy climate. The Taurasi wines here have more distinct spicy and smoky aroma, also recognisable by their light, rich flavour, never too bracing or tannic and with a lower level of alcohol. In other words: classic wines.

The Aglianico vines for the Taurasi wine are organically grown in the Feudi di San Gregorio vineyards in Irpinia. The grapes were manually harvested, carefully sorted and only the best grapes selected for this wine. Following destemming and pressing the juice was fermented in stainless-steel tanks, followed by refinement for about 18 months in medium-toasted French barriques and minimum 9 months in the bottle.

Longevity is 5-7 years.
