Amarone della Valpolicella Classico D.O.C.G. - Zenato
The grapes for the Zenato Amarone are produced at the Costalunga Estate, in the Classical area of Valpolicella. The vineyard is located in Sant’Ambrogio della Valpolicella a hilly zone, with an exposure to South-East and South-West with an altitude of 300-350 metres.
In the harvest, the grapes are manually picked and carefully selected - the healthiest ripest fruit is placed in cases in a well-ventilated room to raisin for 3-4 months. After this period the grapes are pressed, left on the skins for 15-20 days at controlled temperature and fermented. The wine is aged in oak casks for a minimum period of 36 months. After this the grapes have become an Amarone of undoubted quality with great complexity that gets better with age.
Colour: Red, becoming garnet red with ageing.
Bouquet: Elegant and spicy with hints of cherry, Marasca cherry, dry fruit and prunes
Taste: Rounded, velvety, enveloping and soft
Longevity 20-25 years
