Emidio Pepe founded his winery in 1964, after working alongside his father and his grandfather which already back in 1889 where making wine at Casa Pepe. Before anyone else, he strongly believed in the great ageing potential of Trebbiano and Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and he dedicated all his energies to those two indigenous grape varietals, proving their incredible potential and showing it to the entire world.

This Cerasuolo D'Abruzzo rosè wine is produced from 30-year-old vines that grow in clayey and medium-textured soil in the hilly area at an altitude of 600 m. near the sea and north of Pescara in Abruzzo. In the vineyard, the dictates of organic farming are scrupulously followed, integrating them with some biodynamic practices. The grapes were manually harvested and sorted before the manual pressing using the feet. The most had only skin contact for a few hours before the must was decanted and left to ferment in vitrified cement tanks using natural yeasts. The wine aged for a few months in concrete tanks.followed by manual decantation without filtration prior to the bottling.
