The Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio vines for the Etna Rosso red wine grow on the Northern slopes of Mount Etna near Castiglione di Sicilia at an altitude between 550 and 700 m. The grapes were harvested by hand, sorted and destalked followed by 10-12 days fermentation on the skins in concrete tanks. The wine was matured for 12 months in large oak barrels followed by 3 months in the bottles.
Colour: Ruby red with faint purple.
Bouquet: Clear hints of red berries, morello cherry and black cherry on the nose.
Taste: Characterized by its typical balanced tannins and a surprising fullness, flavor and persistence.
Longevity 5-10 years.
