Natyr Petit Verdot is the latest wine to be marketed from Baglio di Pianetto – introduced in 2017.

The Petit Verdot vines for this red wine grow in Baglio di Pianetto’s vineyards rich in clay and gravel at the Santa Cristina Gela winery near Palermo in Northwestern Sicily at an altitude of 650 m. An area where exposure, altitude, atmospheric temperature range, ventilation all come together to determine the precious interplay between plant and soil which give wines with freshness, complexity, elegance and longevity.

The grapes were manually harvested, carefully sorted, destemmed and lightly pressed followed by spontaneous fermentation using natural yeasts with no addition of sulphites. After the malolactic fermentation the wine was matured in steel vats for 24 months until the wine had achieved its natural stability. Once bottled, the wine was allowed to evolve for another 12 months in the bottles.

Colour: Clear ruby red with maroon highlights.
