The Amìra is a Nero d’Avola red wine from the historical Principi di Butera winery located in the Province of Agrigento in Southern Sicily. The vines grow in limestone-clayey vineyards near the Sea. It is a lovely wine with hints of cherry, blueberry and violets and balsamic notes on the nose. The taste is delicate, with a fine structure and persistence with a slight hint of almond on the finish.

The history of the Principi di Butera is fundamentally connected to the noble, millennium long history of Sicily, which thanks to its geographical position was the crossroads of Mediterranean civilisation.
Prince of the land of mirages and wonders, Amìra (from the Arab amîr, meaning ‘prince’) represents the purest embodiment of Nero d’Avola from Butera. This graceful and sophisticated wine, from a cracked and dry terrain rich in precious minerals, expresses their profound admiration for this great Sicilian grape.
