The Barbera vines for Ai Suma grow in Rocchetta Tanaro in the Asti province in sandy and clay soils in vineyards located 160 m above see level.
The vinification is with temperature controlled maceration for 20 days, and the maturation is in oak barrels for 15 months followed by ageing in the bottle for 12 months. This produces an intensely aromatic and savoury wine.
Colour: Very intense ruby red with purple hues.
Bouquet: Ample, rich and complex with intense notes of wild berries, prunes with vanilla, liquorice and cocoa.
Taste: A warm mouth feel with a deep structure and at the same time elegant and sensual, harmonious and very persistent.
