In the heart of Sicily lies the Feudo Principi di Butera, in the province of Caltanissetta, which is recognised today as one of the best wine making regions in Italy thanks above all to its production of high quality, prestigious red wines. The Zonin family, owners of the Feudo Principi di Butera since 1997, have always aimed at celebrating this unique, sun soaked and perfume rich land by producing world class wines which express the full force and soul of Sicily.
The grapes were harvested in the third week of September. Fermentation lasted 8 days at a temperature of 28 - 30 C. The wine matured for 12 months, 20% in 350 liter tonneaux and 80% in 60 hectoliter oak barrels, followed by a further period of bottle ageing.
Colour: A brilliant, fairly deep ruby-red.
Bouquet: Broad and persistent, in which one finds, in addition to almond blossom notes, intense spicy hints and red berries.
Taste: Dry, well-structured and extremely rounded, it offers very complex fruit flavors on the palate. These are reminiscent of cherries preserved in brandy, mingled with a very appealing spiciness that lingers on the finish.
